Programs
Our school welcome children aged from 18 months to 6 years old. Our curriculum has been carefully planned by our team of Early Years Specialists from Les petits écoliers school. The curriculum is thematic in order to engage the students' interest, whilst at the same time being carefully structured and having specific learning outcomes for each year group. Therefore kids have an everyday approach to languages, sciences and nature studies, physical activities, arts and crafts, drama music and dancing activities as well as a multi-intelligence program based on JELIC ( logic development ) and Montessori. For the biggest kids, we will provide an introduction to simple scientific experiences, drama, dance, circus, gardening, cooking and much more.We consider that every child has his own pace. That is why we offer a large range of possibilities: from half-day to full day curriculum, your child should find his own pace.If you wish to have more information, please see our specific programs for each class
About us
Les petits écoliers is working on partnership with the Melody international preschool. It is with a great pleasure that it will open its doors on the 1st of September 2011 to welcome your children.Melody has been open since March 2002, supported by a Canadian Education Group, as a fully licensed early childhood centre offering education programs for 18 months to 6 years old. We offer two curricula: one in French and English and another one in French and Chinese. Each of our activity is taught by one full time experienced French teacher helped by a Chinese or English assistant.The centre provides a warm, stimulating, and professionally presented learning environment where children have free access to a wide variety of developmentally appropriate and good quality equipment and resources to allow their social, intellectual and physical development.

Toddlers
Our Toddlers Program aims to make the transition from home to school easy by providing the same warm, safe and caring learning environment that these young children would have at home within our school. Children of 18 to 30 months are extremely receptive - they absorb everything that is going on around them - and our fun-filled Toddlers program makes the most of this, encouraging the children to understand and develop basic language skills in French, whilst at the same time developing social skills, gross and fine motor skills and creativity through songs, music and imaginative play.Singing and Music Classes : Enhance baby’s music perception, sense of rhythm, and improvisation ability through singing, playing instruments, games, and performances. Our singing class is led by our French and English teachers as well as the music of our piano. learning French, Chinese and English songs naturally through music activities also allows babies to develop interests in music and self-confidence.Body discovering Classes: Encourage development of your baby’s physical coordination, flexibility, and a sense of balance through walking, running, crawling, and sports activities.Arts and crafts: Various workshops will be taught according to each season. Your babies can enhance their skills easily through these carefully designed games and activities including mastering basic painting, drawing, modeling and other manual skills, recognizing a variety of colors, vegetables, fruits, animals, and other general knowledge.Story Reading Classes: Develop your baby's language skills and self-confidence by learning nursery rhymes and stories.Free play Classes: Encourage baby’s movement coordination, creativity, imagination, and problem-solving abilities through playing with different kinds of learning toys.Education through images: This class enable toddlers to tell a short story, identify objects and characters from a movie or a documentary. Education through images enable the development of the eyesight memory and toddlers expression.French: Toddlers will learn how to name everyday objects through taste, eyesight, sense of touch and hearing. The French program for the Pre-K level is thematic; it aims at increasing babies vocabulary and enable the development of his sensory capacities.
Nursery K1

With a strong focus on hands-on learning experiences, our Nursery children enjoy a wonderfully varied and creative program which enables them to learn at their own pace. The main areas of our curriculum for Nursery children are speaking and listening, creative development, social and physical development and world discovering. As with all our classes and activities are taught bi-lingualy; that is to say there is an English or Chinese language teacher and a French language teacher in each class, both guiding the children so that they are immersed in the two languages naturally.Above all our Nursery program aims to capture the excitement and adventure of learning so that coming to school each day becomes something each child looks forward to.Here is a short description of our Nursery program:Singing and Music Classes :Enhance the child’s music perception, sense of rhythm, and improvisation ability through singing, playing instruments, games, and performances. Each child has his own workbook and Maya’s exercise boxes. Education through images: This class enable children to tell a short story, identify objects and characters from a movie or a documentary. Our Kindergarten 1 children enjoy a carefully structured and exciting learning program that covers the all key areas of learning. Our programs are conducted in both French and English or Chinese, to ensure complete immersion in both languages. As a result of this, our students quickly learn to switch from one language to the other quite naturally.We aim to give our Kindergarten 1 children as many direct learning experiences as possible so that learning is involving and meaningful to them. As well as focusing on developing strong language skills, we place a significant emphasis on problem-solving and numeracy skills, on developing creativity, and on nurturing physical and social skills. We organized special activities every Friday such as cooking, gardening, circus, and much more. As it is important for kids to discover the world around them we will also be visiting parks, zoos, aquariums, farms etc. once every month. Physical activities: Your child will discover a large variety of sports and games such as football, basketball, cricket, volleyball etc. Shorts contests will be organized every month with other international schools in the area.Arts and crafts: Various workshops will be taught according to each season. Your children can enhance their skills easily through these carefully designed games and activities including mastering basic painting, drawing, modeling and other manual skills.Drama: This class will boost your children memory and creativity by learning short plays. Parents will be invited to see our final show once every two months.Dance: This class aims at encouraging children to express themselves through different kinds of movements and rhythms. Parents will be invited to see our final show once every two months.Dance: This class aims at encouraging children to express themselves through different kinds of movements and rhythms. Dance class
Our dance classes are designed by our two semi professional teachers. With a strong experience in teaching small kids, they will welcome your children and make them discover a large dance variety. Our classes are specially prepared by our staff from our school English books “ Here we go” and “Noddy”. Each book has a cd and a dvd. Our program is thematic in order to enable children to improve their oral English but it also emphasizes on English children culture. Our class is based on reading and listening famous tales, on learning children songs and nursery rhymes as well as on games related to these classics of the English culture. All the staff from Les petits Ecoliers is happy to welcome you for this new coming year starting at 8.30 am on thursday the 1st of September.The school will be closed from the 10/09/2011 to the 12/09/2011 incuded ( Mid-Autumn festival)Lessons will start over tuesday the 13 of September.Friday 26th of September : visit of Shanghai Zoo. Leaving school at 9.30 am. Coming back around 12.30 am. All the children can have their lunch at school after the visit. Come to register !
